We are currently looking for a senior policy officer to support the work of the European Association for Storage of Energy (https://ease-storage.eu/)
Position Summary
The senior policy officer will support the advocacy and lobbying activities of EASE, guiding the association’s efforts to shape a supportive regulatory framework for energy storage, especially from a market design perspective.
Main Duties
The senior policy officer will manage the advocacy and lobbying of the consultancy on energy storage in close collaboration with key associations of the sector. The senior policy officer will have to coordinate the messaging of the platform according to the positions of the different players.
The main tasks include:
- Monitoring EU legislative and policy developments and analysing their implications for the energy storage industry.
- Liaising with the EU institutions and policymakers.
- Drafting position papers, press releases, and articles to disseminate EASE messages to EU policymakers and media
- Produce analyses, market intelligence reports.
- Representing EASE at workshops, conferences, and networking events
Requirements and Competencies
- 3 to 5 years of experience as Policy Officer or Advisor dealing with energy/environment issues;
- Knowledge of the energy sector and energy market design;
- Understanding of the key policy priorities such as REPower EU, Green Deal.
- Excellent understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes;
- Ability to coordinate the positions of several players in the field of energy and find compromises between the different positions of these players;
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and plan to meet challenging deadlines;
- Leadership skills, ability to work in a close-knit team, flexibility;
- Ability to learn quickly and work on a wide range of issues;
- Excellent writing and oral presentation skills; public speaking experience a plus;
- Fluency in English is necessary; any additional European languages are an asset;
- A university degree in a relevant field;
- Willingness to travel for work.
