We are looking for a dynamic, analytical, and curious Market Intelligence Analyst to join our Brussels-based team. In this role, you will conduct and contribute to detailed strategic market analyses, prepare reports on hydrogen value chains, and support our advocacy and policy work.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and contribute to techno-economic analyses on hydrogen-related topics (e.g. hydrogen production pathways, consuming sectors such as ammonia, steel, e-fuels).
  • Develop and maintain databases on projects, market trends, and key indicators.
  • Lead or assist with market assessments requests from the Secretariat, members, or external stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (e.g. RED III implementation), assessing their implications for the hydrogen market.
  • Develop expertise in specific areas such as hydrogen end-uses (ammonia, steel, refining, e-SAF, methanol, etc.), storage, infrastructure, or production technologies.
  • Collaborate on key publications, including Hydrogen Europe’s flagship publication, the Clean Hydrogen Monitor.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, Sustainability Management, Energy Management).
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in market intelligence, energy systems, economic, or quantitative policy analysis.
  • Strong interest in energy transition topics and EU policy frameworks.
  • Good understanding of the energy system and transition, with basic knowledge of hydrogen’s role in it.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to simplify and structure complex problems.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, capable of communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint experience working with large datasets.

Nice to have: 

  • Familiarity with visualization or data management tools such as PowerBI, SQL databases, or other platforms.
  • Prior exposure to clean hydrogen technologies and market is a plus.
