Euractiv is looking for a German Language Trainee, to join its Brussels team to help us disseminate the news effectively as the EU begins its new policy-making cycle.
The ideal candidate will be expected to understand the range of social media platforms that Euractiv uses, the demographics that are interested in each, and have excellent communication skills in order to be able to use them effectively. They also need to demonstrate real interest in EU news and policy, as being an avid consumer of the output of Euractiv’s newsroom will be necessary to do the job well.
Candidates should be available to start asap
Main responsibilities:
- Translation of articles and subtitling of video content from English to German
- Helping with editing articles and adapting content in line with the editorial strategy
- Communicating with the editorial team on the progress of translations and participating in weekly editorial meetings
- Assisting with the translation of the morning newsletters before they are sent
- Other administrative tasks to support the efficient functioning of the newsroom;
- Contribute to meeting Euractiv’s editorial mission, and commitment to balanced, trustworthy, reporting
- Develop creative ideas and concepts to further expand Euractiv’s reach and readership in the German language.

Euractiv offers:
