The European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB) is hiring an enthusiastic communications person to support our work in EU policy and contribute to the development and outreach of European research projects’ activities.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in policy and science communication and the ability to work in a small international team. Based in Brussels, you will contribute to EFFAB’s and FABRE TP communications, policy campaigns, and EU research projects.
This role combines creativity, teamwork, and strong organisational, proactive and operational skills. If you are ready to be part of a team where your ideas count and your hands-on support makes a daily impact, this could be our chance to support the EU farm animal breeding sector.
Key responsibilities
In close collaboration with the EFFAB policy, communications and projects colleagues, you will ensure a proactive, smooth and timely planning and execution of communication activities.
- Contribute to the science and fact-based communication of the association
- Develop and implement targeted and tailored communication campaigns and outreach
- Planning, implementing and maintaining the online presence (social media, websites, etc.)
- Create dynamic and innovative content, including articles, press releases, speeches, event scripts, interviews and assist in video content creation and graphic assets
- Organise online and in-situ meetings and events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, stakeholders, and scientists
- Coordinate communication activities with members and external stakeholders, including the EFFAB comms working group.
- Helping with day-to-day communications and project-related activities
- Track the impact of communication activities, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement
Who you are
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- A degree in communications, journalism, public affairs or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Keen interest in writing and ability to translate complex issues into accessible and understandable materia
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to build, maintain and leverage relationships with media and peers
- Experience with website management. Additional experience with WordPress is a plus
- Experience with content creation software like Canva. Adobe Suite is a plus
- Enjoy working in a small and international team
- Self-driven, positive, proactive and results-oriented team player
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and thrive in a strategic and operational role that requires excellent execution
- Knowledge of the EU public affairs and Horizon Europe, is a plus
