Location: Brussels, with flexible remote work options (up to 8 days/month, including from other European Union locations)

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Communications Officer will implement the Office communication strategy and translate the office strategy into simple, compelling messages. S/he closely supports our three departments (Membership & Events; Policy; and EU-funded projects), and proposes the best tools to communicate various activities to different audiences.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy with our member organisations and toward the EU institutions
- Create communications campaigns, press and media materials targeted at our member clubs and EU decision-makers
- Manage social media strategy by identifying priorities and creating adapted media content for various channels
- Manage FIA Region I’s internal and external websites (content management, maintenance, overseeing new developments, newsletters)
- Build relations with the Press to create communications content around EU-projects and Policy
- Brief and manage relations with external experts (i.e. designers, agencies, photographers and videographers), including the development of visual identity and promotion of events
The successful candidate will have
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, additional language(s) a plus
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Good command of social media and website management
- Creative thinking
- Ability to act and react in a timely manner (e.g. when fast-paced political developments occur)
- Some knowledge of graphic design would be an asset
- Education in a related field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations)
The ideal candidate is a good networker, organised, and able to prioritize, with an ability to proactively find and implement solutions.
