The global project of the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) – Just Mobility operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and aims to effectively advance and implement a globally just transition in the transport sector. The project focuses on both strengthening electromobility in public transport within the framework of the TUMI E-Bus Mission and promoting collaboration with European partners.

The project serves as an anchor initiative for EU joint actions – often in close cooperation with the French development agency AFD. One component of the project is the MobiliseYourCity Partnership, which was launched in 2015 by actors from the EU, France, and Germany and is based in Brussels. In recent years, the MobiliseYourCity Partnership has established itself as a key player in promoting and implementing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) in the Global South. In the future, synergies between the regional projects led by the TUMI initiative and the globally operating MobiliseYourCity Partnership are to be increasingly strengthened.

These regional projects include an EU joint action in Yaoundé, Cameroon (Move Yaoundé), which is being implemented as a Team Europe Initiative in cooperation with AFD, as well as two further EU joint actions currently in preparation (in Costa Rica and regional initiatives in the MENA region).

The TUMI project is responsible for managing the German side of the secretariat and is currently seeking an advisor (m/f/d) for the MobiliseYourCity office in Brussels.
