Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated trainee to support our work at the intersection of EU policy, scientific communication and project coordination. The role offers hands-on experience in monitoring EU legislative developments, supporting projects focused on public health in particular the human exposome and contributing to communication and outreach activities.
Key tasks include:
- Monitoring selected EU policy and legislative files
- Conducting desk research on topics such as environmental health, public health, and the human exposome
- Supporting the organisation of online and in-person events
- Attending events and webinars, and producing concise reports and analysis
- Drafting meeting minutes and internal briefings
- Preparing social media content related to EU policy developments and project activities
- Supporting advocacy work
Candidate Profile
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Diploma in European affairs, public health, environmental policy, or a related field
- Previous traineeship experiences
- Strong interest in health policy, AI, innovation, data, and environmental issues
- Ability to work in a small, dynamic team and contribute proactively
- Strong analytical, writing skills and detail-oriented
- Good organisational skills
- Appetite for AI-derived tools
Desired competencies:
- Experience as blue book trainee or equivalent.
- Solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, multitasking and adaptability.
- Outgoing personality, comfortable in networking and stakeholder settings.
- Experience working on EU-funded projects (Horizon or equivalent).
Employment Conditions
- Schedule: Full-time
- Contract duration: 6 months (possibility of transforming into a 1-year employee contract).
- Work location: Hybrid (Brussels’ office and 2 days of teleworking).
