E-Mobility Europe, Europe’s e-mobility association, is hiring a driven individual to lead our public affairs activities towards the European institutions, with a core focus on the EU’s 2035 zero-emission car sales goal, and related industrial policies.

E-Mobility Europe advocates for a successful transition to electric vehicles across Europe, to the benefit of both its people and its industries. Our 80+ members include frontrunning electric vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure providers, fleet operators, the supply chain, technology companies, and national associations.

Based in Brussels, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced public affairs expert to join our team and lead political outreach activities. We offer an attractive working environment in a growing association, within a dynamic international team.

Your profile

  • You need a proven track record, ideally including 8 or more years’ experience in EU policy in Brussels, covering related policy areas
  • You are a proficient public speaker and can express ideas in a clear and concise manner, both in written and oral forms. You must be fluent in English.
  • You can establish contacts easily and therefore create relationships with influencers in your daily work to deliver the policy objectives of E-Mobility Europe.
  • You have demonstrable experience of leading public affairs strategies towards the EU institutions.
  • You have a perfect understanding and knowledge of the EU decision-making process and political dynamics. An understanding of Europe’s automotive and energy sectors and related geopolitics is advantageous.
  • If not already a subject expert, you need a keen interest in and an ability to quickly grasp legislative and technical matters related to E-Mobility Europe’s scope of activity
  • You must have experience of the mobility or energy debate in the European context and have worked within a related sector in Brussels.

Your Responsibilities

Working in parallel with the Senior Policy Manager + regulatory team and reporting to the Secretary General, your work will focus on actions to:

  • Define the advocacy strategies for E-Mobility Europe with a core focus on the EU’s 2035 zero-emission car sales goal, plus supply chain industrial policies, setting the overall priorities for the association in terms of its political outreach work
  • Represent E-Mobility Europe in high-level meetings in the European institutions and with other stakeholders
  • Network, coordinate and build alliances with external stakeholders, including liaison with other industry partners and NGOs
  • Organise and run E-Mobility Europe’s Advocacy Working Group and oversee other related groups, including Chair liaison, sending out documents, managing minutes, and following-up on actions.
  • Oversee E-Mobility Europe’s political communication, working closely with the association’s Communications and Events Manager, including for events organization, media strategy, and other external output
  • Activate E-Mobility Europe’s member network – including company champions and national associations – to effectively influence decision makers at EU and national-levels
  • Draft and oversee the drafting of position papers, briefings, press releases, and other po
  • Support the recruitment of new members
  • Any other task deemed necessary to meet objectives as requested by the Secretary General
