ERMCO – The European Ready Mixed Concrete Organization, ERMCO, is offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as Technical Manager.
Candidate Profile
- Advanced knowledge of ready-mixed concrete, including its components, properties, and interactions.
- Solid understanding of sustainability topics, particularly related to the circular economy, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of relevant European standards, such as EN 206, Eurocode 2, and EN 13760.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinating ERMCO’s Technical Committee (ETC) and Sustainability Committee (ESC), ensuring that both groups work effectively towards their respective objectives.
- Organizing two meetings per year for each of these committees, providing a structured platform for discussing progress, sharing updates, and setting future priorities.
- Taking care of the agendas of the meetings, all the relevant documentation to ensure productive sessions and the minutes at the end of the meeting.
- Maintaining active engagement with European CEN Technical Committees, such as TC350, TC51, TC154, TC229, and TC104.
- Following developments, providing input when necessary, and ensuring ERMCO’s positions are aligned with ongoing standardization efforts.
- Organizing thematic workshops and seminars to promote knowledge sharing and foster industry innovation.
- Taking part at the ERMCO Boards and General Assemblies.
- Preparing technical position papers and prepare responses to specific dossiers or regulatory consultations.
Essential skills
- Excellent level of English (both spoken and written) – as all work is conducted in English.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to coordinate and lead technical groups or working committees.
- Well-organised, reliable and detail-oriented.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil engineering, or Building Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Environmental Science, or equivalents.
- Practical experience with the production process of ready-mixed concrete.
What we offer
This role requires a commitment with ERMCO, preferably in Brussels. Daily presence in the office is not required, but occasional travel and in-person attendance at least a few times a month are necessary.
The candidate’s compensation will be determined and agreed upon based on experience and qualifications.
