The Role

We are seeking a motivated Public Affairs Senior Consultant to join our Sustainability, Energy & Raw Materials practice, with a focus on EU energy policy, industrial decarbonisation, and strategic value chains (including energy‑intensive industries and raw materials).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead client work-streams and oversee more junior colleagues
• Contribute to client, association and project management under the supervision of a manager
• Research and analyse EU policy developments related to energy, climate and industrial transformation (e.g. ETS, CBAM, hydrogen, CCS, electrification, industrial heat, Critical Raw Materials, Batteries Regulation), and assess their impact on clients’ business models and value chains
• Provide clients with timely, evidence-based insights and deliver client-ready briefings translating complex technical and regulatory developments into clear strategic implications
• Build and maintain a strong network across EU institutions, industry stakeholders and associations active in energy, manufacturing and raw materials value chains
• Attend key policy meetings and industry events and report insights relevant to industrial competitiveness and the energy transition
• Collaborate with other teams on integrated public affairs, association management and communications campaigns related to industrial policy and energy transition priorities
• Support business development by identifying emerging trends in energy policy, industrial decarbonisation, and supply chain resilience (energy and raw materials)

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

• Master’s degree in European Affairs, Energy Policy, Economics or other related fields
• 3-4 years of relevant experience in EU public affairs (consultancy, trade associations, corporate, or institutional roles)
• Strong understanding of EU decision-making processes
• Expertise in EU energy and climate policy frameworks and their impact on industry (e.g. ETS, CBAM, RED, Industrial Accelerator Act, Hydrogen & CCS policies, Critical Raw Materials Act, Batteries Regulation) is a plus
• Understanding of energy‑intensive industries and/or industrial value chains (e.g. fertilisers, construction materials, manufacturing, batteries, clean tech)
• Experience is association management is also an asset
• Fluent in English (native or equivalent) + proficiency in at least one other EU language
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent research skills, ability to synthesise information and extract key messages
• Proactive with a collaborative, can-do attitude. Well organised, attention to detail
• Ability to distil complex technical topics into clear messages for diverse audiences
• Eligible to work in the EU
