Membership and Business Development Intern

About the Membership Function

The Team manages the relations between the Association and the companies and organisations that form its membership. It leads the business development, organises meetings, connects partners, fulfils administrative and governance responsibilities, promotes services among existing members, scouts new ones, and strives to build lasting relationships of cooperation and support. We engage members to help them achieve their goals through their work with Hydrogen Europe.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supporting the work of the Membership Team;
  • Assisting the members of Hydrogen Europe with their inquiries in emails and calls;
  • Administrative tasks related to internal procedures;
  • Data management and reporting related to the membership;
  • Support business development activities, including prospect research, market monitoring and pipeline development;
  • Support outreach and relationship management through meeting preparation, CRM updates and follow-up activities;
  • Identify new opportunities for member engagement, events, partnerships and wider Hydrogen Europe initiatives;
  • Assistance with the organisation of webinars and meeting for members and partners;
  • Participation and support in the European Hydrogen Week exhibition and conference;
  • Supporting the communication and visual work required for the membership and business development;
  • Ad hoc support for the Operations Team and the wider organisation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, EU affairs, communication, marketing or related (3rd year or above);
  • Strong interest in membership, business development, administrative procedures, and the work of membership associations;
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office package;
  • Experience with CRM systems, lead generation tools, and other marketing tools like Canva and Adobe is a plus;
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus;
  • Research and analytical skills – ability to research companies, markets and industry developments, identify relevant opportunities and synthesise information clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic financial statements;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and discretion;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and an eye for detail;
  • High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector
