This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of battery storage in Europe, influence EU policy, and work closely with leading solar and storage companies, and deliver on the ambition to accelerate battery storage deployment in Europe by a factor 10.
Job responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO and Deputy CEO, you will lead SolarPower Europe’s activities on battery storage, and in particular the Battery Storage Europe Platform, including:
• Policy Leadership: Lead the Battery Storage Europe Platform’s advocacy efforts on battery storage, covering EU law and regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge Development & Content Creation: Build comprehensive knowledge on the battery value chain in Europe, including laws, policies, and technical insights and feed into the database. Develop materials, presentations and communication material, in collaboration with internal teams.
• Visibility and Outreach: Organise dedicated events and webinars to raise awareness and visibility of battery storage topics. This also includes managing the dedicated website in coordination with the events and communications team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with EU institutions, national ministries, industry associations, and key stakeholders in the battery storage and energy sectors.
• Business Development: Support member recruitment and retention through strategic engagement and value delivery and help further develop partnerships.
Profile
The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:
• A Master’s degree in Energy, Law, Applied Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in EU advocacy, preferably in energy, sustainability or trade.
• Proven knowledge of the battery storage sector, including EU and national market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and technical challenges.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in writing, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects and deliver results.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral); other EU languages are a plus.
