What we are looking for
We are looking for a Consultant (approx. 3–5 years of experience) to join our expanding EU tech policy team.
We expect applicants to bring a strong grounding in EU technology and digital policy, with relevant experience gained in consultancy, an in-house role, a trade association, or the EU institutions.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of workstreams, apply sound judgment in fast-moving policy environments, and translate complex policy developments into clear strategic advice for clients.
You should be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, while also working closely with senior colleagues to shape strategy, challenge assumptions, and deliver high-quality outputs.
We are looking for someone with an interest in how media developments shape tech policy and corporate tech strategy, with some experience and interest in policy communications.
This is an opportunity for a motivated policy professional to play an active role in shaping client strategies, supporting senior engagement with EU institutions, and contributing to the growth and development of Fourtold’s EU tech policy practice.
Tasks that you can expect to work on include:
- Leading discrete client workstreams and day-to-day delivery, with appropriate senior oversight.
- Analysing EU tech and digital policy developments and assessing their strategic implications for clients.
- Drafting high-quality written policy outputs such as briefings, position papers, consultation responses and messaging documents.
- Supporting the design and delivery of advocacy and engagement strategies, including stakeholder mapping and outreach.
- Managing and delivering policy events and roundtables, including agenda development, speaker coordination and follow-up.
- Engaging directly with policymakers and stakeholders to support client objectives.
- Contributing to internal knowledge-sharing, mentoring more junior colleagues, and strengthening team capability.
- Supporting policy communications work: drafting materials, media monitoring, competitor tracking, drafting briefings, and translating insights into recommendations.
In the role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Proven experience delivering high-quality policy and public affairs work in a professional environment.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take responsibility for outputs.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgement when dealing with complex or incomplete information.
- Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- A solid understanding of EU legislative and policymaking processes and key tech and digital policy files.
- An interest in how media developments shape tech policy and corporate tech strategy and experience in different aspects of policy communications.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
- Alignment with Fourtold’s values (Courage, Determination, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Generosity, Curiosity) and a commitment to applying them in daily work.
Our offer
- Opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team.
- A flexible, enjoyable and respectful working environment.
- Competitive package.
- Significant training opportunities as well as a wellbeing programme that includes an employee assistance programme.
- Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, and are committed to supporting diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
