GIZ International Services (InS) Brussels is currently looking for as Assistant Accountant (m/f/d) to strengthen our Brussels unit.
The Assistant Accountant will be seated in GIZ InS premises in Brussels (Belgium). We offer a full-time unlimited employment contract under Belgian labour law (CP 200.000).
The position reports to the Head of Finances and Administration and is expected to start as soon as possible.
Your main tasks:
- Registration of invoices and reimbursement of expenses (training will be provided) using the GIZ systems (S4HANA and SAP Concur)
- Following up functional email box for invoices
- Document filing paper and electronic when applicable
- Involvement in the reconciliation of accounts
- Preparing of monthly and quarterly reporting
- Involvement in the year-end closing process and preparation of the financial statements
- Supporting the preparation of Project Expense Reports / billing to the European Commission
- Information to Team Management on cash flow and expense status
- Participation in the VAT recovery procedure and management of related files
- Preparation and execution electronic payments in various bank platforms and cash transactions in Brussels and field, including the corresponding file follow up
- Management of the petty cash
- Registration of business partners
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor degree (experience in accounting or business administration will be considered as an asset)
Languages:
- Fluent spoken and written English (any other language knowledge will be considered as an asset – especially French and German).
Other competences:
- Full IT proficiency (all current MS Office applications);
- Able to work with precision and attention to detail; focused attention even under high time pressure or workload;
- Well organized;
- Problem-solving minded and with a service-oriented attitude, excellent communication skills;
- Able to work autonomously and pro-actively;
- Demonstrated intercultural skills, keen on working in a dynamic international team
Salary and Benefits:
- The gross monthly salary for this position is expected to be in the range of 2800.00€ – 3200.00€ depending on qualifications and professional experience.
The compensation package includes benefits in accordance with Belgian employment regulations.
