COTANCE is Europe’s tanning industry association, based in Brussels. Members are the national Leather Trade Associations of IT, ES, FR, DE, UK, AT, PT, NL, SE, RO, HU as well as Scan-Hide from Denmark.  With some 300 million m2 of finished leather produced each year, COTANCE members account for more than 90 per cent of the continent’s output and some 18% of World sales in this exclusive material generating about €8 billion in annual turnover (more at

COTANCE is looking for a motivated young Project and Communication Officer (M/F) to join its small team in Brussels. S/he will manage an Erasmus+ project and manage communication platforms (Newsletter) and social media. S/he will report directly to the Secretary General.


  • English mother tongue or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with ability to manage initiatives, and service/coordinate networks and partnerships
  • University degree in Legal Affairs, Economics or related areas
  • Knowledge of other European languages is a plus
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions;
  • Knowledge of social media and communication platforms such as Mailchimp;
  • Skilled organiser;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience;
  • Understanding of the Leather industry and tanning sector, is a plus;
  • Knowledge of or experience in LCA, Education & Training, R&D and in dealing with the European Commission, and its agencies is a plus.


The selected candidate will:

  • Work in a small international team in the Avenue Louise area;
  • Manage on-going projects, and in particular a cross-sectoral Erasmus+ project
  • Contribute to the search for more funding opportunities;
  • Publish a monthly Newsletter (Mailchimp);
  • Ensure a regular presence on social media (Twitter, Facebook, …);
  • Assist the Secretary General in project related policy areas;
  • Interact closely with members and partners at a European level;
  • Willingness to travel
