The European Movement International, a pan-European network of civil society organisations based in Brussels, is looking for a Policy and Advocacy Officer. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and highly motivated individual who is keen to help in the following areas:

  • Mapping upcoming legislative initiatives from the EU institutions and gathering intelligence on the EU’s policy priorities;
  • Undertaking research and drafting the European Movement’s policy positions on policy areas that, among others, include democracy and citizen participation, sustainability, social rights, foreign and security policy, the Conference on the Future of Europe, education, etc;
  • Conducting advocacy to promote the European Movement’s policy positions;
  • Maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders and policymakers across the main EU institutions, in particular the European Parliament and Commission;
  • Assisting with the organisation of events and outreach activities to promote the European Movement’s policy positions;
  • Assisting with the coordination of the European Movement International Political Committees;
  • Maintaining contact with member organisations of the EM International network and managing internal consultation processes when needed.


  • Completed university degree in the field of European affairs, social or political sciences, economics, law;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills;
  • Experience in advocacy and public affairs and/or experience in the EU institutions;
  • Experience in research on the policy areas that are among the European Movement International priorities;
  • Great interpersonal skills;
  • Further European languages are an asset.
