The European Jewish Congress (EJC), the representative political organisation of European Jewry, is looking to expand its international and dynamic team with the position of Operational Officer. The work place is situated in Brussels, close to the EU institutions.

Description of main responsibilities

The role of the Operational Officer includes among other tasks:

  • General co-ordination and support to the office, such as answering and directing phone calls, accepting deliveries, travel arrangements, office maintenance issues, etc.;
  • Organising and scheduling appointments, calls and meetings;
  • Sending and receiving correspondence;
  • Assisting in the preparation of EJC events;
  • Developing and maintain a filing system in compliance with data protection rules;

Required Skills and experience

  • Proven professional experience, or the combination of education and experience required;
  • Fluent oral and written skills in English and French. Knowledge of German, Hebrew or other languages is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT);
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Strong English editing skills (both copy and stylistic editing), knowledge of EU style guide is an advantage;
  • Interest in politics is an advantage;
  • Experience in organising events and meetings, in particular with the EU institutions is an advantage;
