Job Vacancy – Junior Project Manager – temporary position

The College of Europe is looking for a Junior Project Manager (M/F/X) to join its Development Office for a temporary position (June – December 2021)  The Development Office is the College of Europe’s main link for developing professional training courses, international projects and other professional services for the public and private sectors worldwide. Description of the position:

The Junior Project Manager will be mainly responsible for managing projects with international partners of the College of Europe. He/she will work in close cooperation with the rest of the team. Main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and coordinating projects and training courses and seminars (mostly online; in person implementation possible according to the evolution of the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic);
  • Liaising with experts, professors, trainers, participants and partners worldwide;
  • Supporting the preparation of tenders and project applications
  • Attending meetings and events (online until further notice);
  • Budgeting and reporting.

Required profile:

  • University degree (in European studies, law, economics, political sciences or international relations) and a postgraduate degree in EU affairs;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management and training design and development, proving a very good understanding of the EU and its institutions;
  • Knowledge of and relevant experience with tendering procedures (in particular: calls for tender/service contracts, technical assistance projects (EuropeAid), framework contracts, etc..) is considered as an asset;
  • Fluent spoken and written English (candidates not complying with the requested level will not be considered); fluent spoken and written French;  other languages (in particular Spanish) are considered as an asset;
  • Full computer literacy;
  • Good analytical and organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Open personality with strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills and a flexible and dynamic attitude.

We are currently following government guidance, and the staff of the Development Office is working remotely. We will be reviewing this regularly and will return to the office once this is appropriate and feasible. The position of Junior Project Manager is based in the College of Europe’s office in Bruges (Belgium).
