The European Federation of National Engineering Associations is an Organization of professional engineers that unites the national engineering associations from 33 European countries, representing 6 million engineers in Europe. Because of its involvement and leadership in a European funded project, the position for an experienced Project Officer is vacant as from 1 January 2023 onwards. We seek to employ a highly motivated, dynamic and results-driven person with relevant prior EU project experience. The position requires the ability to pro-actively follow-up the work in progress, to work in teams and to think and act autonomously with an eye for details. Excellent digital and communications skills in combination with some years of experience in the administration of EU-funded projects, is a must.

The job includes the administrative management of the project, including preparation and participation of/in related meetings, as well as the implementation and follow-up of agreed actions. The job requires networking at a high level with European partners and relevant stakeholders. We wish to appoint a candidate with above-average motivation and commitment, who is interested in a longer-term cooperation. We regard the ability to work individually, in a confident, reliable and convincing manner, as a major prerequisite.


  • Proven capacity to take ownership and responsibility in the execution of EU projects.
  • Have a relevant university master’s degree.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French/Dutch (other languages are a plus).
  • Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and reliability.
  • Some years of experience in the area of organization and external relations, and preferably in the representation of an association at national and/or EU/international level
  • Have a deep knowledge of the organisation, procedures, policies, programs and administration of projects from the European Commission.
  • Be perseverant and available to occasionally travel within Europe.
  • Reside in Belgium (applications from abroad will not be considered).


Location: Brussels, Belgium

Contract: full time, limited contract of 1 year to start with, extension possible.

Date of assignment: no later than 1 February 2023
