Full time position based in the European Movement International office, Brussels.The European Movement International (EMI) works to promote democracy and strengthen civil society. It is a pan-European network present in 30 countries and encompassing over 70 member organisations. We believe in closer European integration and work across our continent to involve Europeans in the great debates of our time, inform policy-makers’ thinking and influence the direction the EU takes. Find out more about our policy areas and activities.The role of events and projects junior officer is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the EU and contribute to the implementation of our key projects and outreach activities. To perform the role, you will be in contact with a variety of civil society organisations, get great insights into polling and political communications, contribute to the management of a wide variety of high level events, and much more. We are seeking a highly motivated, driven young professional to join our fun, dedicated, and multinational team at our office on Place Luxembourg.

The Job

  • Assist in the project management and delivery of a long-running projects
  • Organisation of high level / stakeholder events (digital and offline)
  • Contribute to the coordination and flow of information between a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Compile documents with relevant information for project stakeholders
  • Draft, edit and proof-read materials, including reports, briefings, and opinion articles
  • Contribute to creative brainstorming for related project activities and outreach

Other Tasks

  • Help keep the EMI and the project website up-to-date with relevant resources and materials
  • Help maintain EMI’s social media and digital presence
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and planning processes
  • Support other team members and stand in where necessary

Knowledge and skillsEssential

  • A demonstrated commitment to the core EMI values
  • Working experience in the field of project/event management & implementation
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent eye for detail
  • The ability to write clear, easy-to-understand texts
  • (Near) native standard command of the English language
  • Ability to effectively reach out and gather information from third parties
  • Confident and independent worker
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills


  • Strong French language skills
  • Knowledge of the EU and the EU institutions
  • Knowledge of website CMS (WordPress)
  • Knowledge of other European Languages
