EU Public Affairs Consultant
The European Affairs Consulting Group (EACON) is looking for a highly motivated EU Public Affairs Consultant to reinforce its Public Affairs team in Brussels in working with the EU institutions, businesses, industry associations and other major stakeholders.
You will be working together with EACON’s team of experts, starting in March 2023.

For almost 20 years, EACON has provided high-level experience in working with the European institutions, national institutions and other major stakeholders, has supported the management of European trade and scientific associations and has provided information and advice about EU law and politics.
In the context of a dynamic and challenging European Public Affairs landscape, EACON is offering a unique working environment for professionals in the fields of EU Law and Public Affairs.
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:
- At least 3 to 4 years of experience in a PA consultancy, company in-house PA, , trade association, EU institution or another relevant professional environment
- Master’s degree in European Studies, European Law, Politics, or a similar field, with a focus on EU policy and decision-making processes
- Excellent communications skills in English required (spoken and written)
- Experience in working on issues relating to sustainability, circular economy and energy
- Excellent social and organisational skills
- Ability to learn and develop within a fast-paced working environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an eye for details
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an international team and to take responsibility for junior staff
- Experience in managing accounts and project management
- Strong research abilities and analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of the EU decision-making processes and stakeholder environment
Your main responsibilities:
- Managing accounts and acting as the main point of contact for clients under the guidance of EACON’s senior management
- Developing and coordinating the implementation of Public Affairs activities for our clients
- Project management functions
- Monitoring, analysing and summarising policy initiatives and developments at both Member State and EU level
- Contributing to proposal-writing, such as preparing policy background sections, identifying experts and compiling track records
- Independent preparation of draft reports, presentations, and other internal and external documents
- Managing the implementation of outreach programmes towards the European institutions and other stakeholders
- Organising the preparation of meetings and events
