Role Purpose:

The work of this role is a business driver. You are expected to further develop our container trading business for both used and new containers in Europe.  Furthermore, to provide solutions for effectively reallocating our resale inventory to locations where we could achieve higher profit margins.

A typical day in this Role:

  • Active SALES of NEW and USED CONTAINERS, closely coordinated with relevant marketing strategies to optimize net profit.
  • Delivering volume growth with key accounts, across all categories including direct key account management.
  • Develop a new type of business to create additional revenue on top of our core business.
  • Look for cost-effective movement opportunities to move containers from surplus/low-price locations to demand/high-price locations within or outside Europe.
  • Repositioning and inventory management ensuring CONTAINER are in the correct locations for selling.
  • Collect market intelligence and conduct periodic market analysis.
  • Monitor and ensure container tracking of the moves.
  • Credit monitoring of buyers to avoid credit risk (loss of our CONTAINER asset/ Account Receivable overdue)
  • Negotiate and conclude commercial terms for the moves of CONTAINERS.
  • Maintain system data integrity and accuracy.
  • Issue booking and preclear for all gate in/out activities for gate buy deals and follow up on all related matters, for example, damage, change of supply quantity, etc.
  • Work closely with all related stakeholders to leverage all the resources in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Working closely with buyers, depots & different service vendors to ensure daily operations are smoothly conducted.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects.
  • Intensive traveling required.

What we look for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics & Transportation, Supply Chain, Maritime, Business, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years or above of container trading (New and Used containers) experience or you have been working for container shipping lines, depots interchange brokers, third-party’s logistics companies, and/or container resale/second-hand companies' operations looking to develop your commercial savvy.
  • Have a good understanding of selling containers in one-way movement activities and empty reposition activities or already have an existing relationship with vendors/clients/3rd party logistics companies/brokers would be an asset.
  • Familiar with THE CONTAINER movement flow or one-way movement.
  • Vendor/CONTAINER management experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Computer and IT skills, extensive knowledge of MS Excel mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solver.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and business.
  • Strong English communication skills in verbal and written (Chinese language ability is an additional advantage).
