ABOUT EUROHEALTHNET

EuroHealthNet is the European Partnership for improving health, equity, and wellbeing. It consists of 61 bodies from 26 European countries responsible for public health and health promotion in Europe. From our office in Brussels’ we coordinate research, policy, and capacity building activities which help address health inequalities and positively affect the determinants of health. ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The EuroHealthNet office is an active, diverse, and dynamic work environment. We invest in people and are committed to equipping trainees with tools and knowledge for successful careers.

We are looking for a proactive, committed, and creative individual who wants to expand their knowledge and experience in communications and website management in an international environment. The communications assistant will work in the communication department, but also assist with supportive tasks across the organisation.

The assistant will work mainly on the re-development of two EuroHealthNet websites (the main website and health-inequalities.eu) and will further support EuroHealthNet’s day-to-day communications activities. These include maintaining websites , the preparation of publications such as newsletters, our online magazine, and policy précis, maintaining our databases, and monitoring national and international developments. 

The assistant will also have the opportunity to support the organisation of EuroHealthNet’s 2020 Webinar Series and to be part of the development of new tools and activities which focus on increasing engagement and interaction. 

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • A university education in a relevant field.
  • An interest in and some knowledge of health, public health or health inequalities.
  • Experience in building and maintaining WordPress websites, and strong IT skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native speaker level), knowledge of other European languages is an asset. Your level of English will be tested in the interview.
  • The ability to understand and communicate detailed and complex subjects.
  • A self-starting, proactive attitude and strong organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritise and manage changing demands and deadlines.

PRACTICALITIES

This internship is offered on a full-time basis (38 hours/week) for 6 months. It will be offered according to Belgian national legislation. The Communications Assistant will report to EuroHealthNet’s Communications Officer.

All applicants must be qualified, eligible and able to work in Belgium. Applicants that do not yet live in Belgium will be considered, but we are not able to provide financial assistance to relocate to Brussels/Belgium. Considering the current pandemic, the internship might involve a combination of teleworking and working in the office. 

For this position, EuroHealthNet offers a monthly compensation of €796,91, as well as benefits such as meal vouchers and financial support to use public transport to get to work.
