From Brussels to Washington DC, our public affairs teams help companies navigate complex policy and regulatory issues, build their reputation, and defend their license to operate. Our EU Public Affairs team in Brussels, PNKetchum+, is looking for an Account Director to join its Healthcare Public Affairs and Advocacy practice.
YOUR MISSION
The Account Director will be responding to the VP Healthcare Public Affairs and Advocacy. He/she will be responsible for managing client accounts, supporting companies and patient organizations on EU
and global projects. He/she will also lead on new business development. She/he will also manage, coach and mentor more junior team members.
The Account Director will be a key part of the wider Ketchum team, collaborating with colleagues from various Ketchum offices and working with international clients in an integrated PA/PR approach.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage client accounts and oversee and lead engagement programs for clients
- Provide high-level strategic advice to clients
- Manage budgets related to the portfolio of clients
- Lead client meetings and internal account management meetings
- Manage account teams to ensure effective delivery of agreed client projects, on budget and to a high quality
- Review progress, monitor capacity and allocate tasks
- Lead on new business activity (acquisition, development and pitching)
- Coach and mentor junior team members
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least seven years of relevant experience having worked for or working at one or more: an EU or international institution, a public affairs consultancy, an in-house public affairs role in a company, a trade association or an NGO
- Understanding of the workings of the EU institutions and legislatives processes, in policy areas related to healthcare, well-being and related areas
- Expertise in EU policy is an absolute must
- Intellectually curious and motivated by complex and varied assignments
- Results and service oriented
- Interest in the commercial side of working in an agency
- Good organizational and team-working skills
- Near native knowledge of the English language is required
