DSO Entity is looking for young technical professionals, motivated by the challenge of transforming the power system and eager to contribute to a cleaner, more resilient grid. Successful candidates will support a range of Expert Groups within the Secretariat’s office in Brussels. (1-3 years of professional experience) starting as soon as possible.

Presentation of DSO Entity

DSO Entity represents over 800 electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) of small, medium and large size, connecting 250+ million consumers across the 27 Member States of the European Union. Our European association aims to increase efficiencies in the electricity distribution networks in the EU and to ensure close cooperation with Transmission System Operators and ENTSO-E. As such, DSO Entity will take up a key role in the development and completion of the internal electricity market. It will act as a platform of cooperation between all the electricity DSOs with the overall objective of positioning itself as an expert body tackling essential matters such as developing network codes & guidelines, promoting the optimal & coordinated planning and operation of DSO/TSO networks, and sharing of best practices on flexibility, digitalisation of the distribution systems and the integration of renewable energy sources. DSO Entity was formally established in June 2021 after being legally mandated by the revision of the Electricity Regulation (2019/943) as part of the Clean Energy Package.

Main responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Expert Group Coordinators and assist the experts in the daily activities

• Assist the preparation of the Expert Group meetings, including the drafting of agenda, slides, and minutes. • Monitor regulatory developments on the related technical topics.

• Support internal and external communications on the Expert Group work.

• Support the organisation on related events and workshops in Brussels with relevant stakeholders.

• Provide other general support to DSO Entity’s Secretariat team when needed.

Requirements:

(Experience and education)

• University degree (engineering, energy sector, digitalisation, economics.

• 1-to-3-year professional experience in the energy sector.

• Understanding of EU processes, decision-making and basic knowledge of and/or interest in the functioning of the energy system.

• Interest and/or experience on topics such as cybersecurity, demand-side flexibility, digitalisation of the energy sector, and/or data interoperability will be considered an asset.

• Experience in a member-based organisation/association.

• Highly motivated to engage in the energy transition

• Curious, autonomous, polyvalent, and flexible personality with a pioneering spirit, who enjoys working in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

• Taste for technical topics and willingness to specialise yourself.

• Organisational, writing and analytical skills.

• Fully proficient in English. Other certified EU languages are an asset.

• Brussels-based or willing and able to relocate shortly.
