You have a strong network within the Brussels communications scene and a deep understanding of EU policy communication. Your excellent written and oral communication skills in English, combined with your ability to translate complex business and policy issues into compelling narratives, make you a standout candidate. You are a brilliant storyteller, an effective time manager, a self-starter and a team player with strong networking skills.

About the Role
As our Communications and Advocacy Manager, you will support Suntory Beverage & Food Europe’s (SBFE) corporate communications and EU public policy strategy. You will engage with a wide range of external stakeholders, including policy and EU institutions, NGOs, community groups, and media, as well as internal stakeholders across corporate affairs, internal communications, and sustainability. Reporting to the SBFE Director of External Affairs & Sustainability, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact by promoting our environmental and social commitments and positioning the company as a business partner aligned with the EU’s sustainability goals.

More About the role

Corporate Communications

  • Create and execute the company’s central corporate communications plan across owned and earned media.
  • Manage and maintain the central regions communications calendar including being the point of contact for the global pr function.
  • Lead central communications activities such as SBFE Green Month, Together for Good, World Water Day
  • Proactive engagement with journalists in EU including drinks trade and sustainability media, Identify, build and maintain relationships with NGO and corporate CSR partners
  • Run the central function press office including proactive response to journalist requests
  • Responsible for measurement and evaluation of cross market communication campaigns
  • Lead the external communications monthly team meeting with a focus on driving best practice and increasing awareness of the Suntory brand
  • Develop thought leadership content that showcases company initiatives and builds profile for senior management team relating to core business objectives

Content creation

  • Create engaging content for key stakeholders across earned, owned and paid media.
  • Copywriting: key message development, Q&As, press releases, blogs, op-eds, company sustainability report, website and social content
  • Management and delivery of company’s annual sustainability report including design, content and copywriting
  • Create/commission infographics, social media content, video etc.  Some basic social media graphic skills would be a plus.
  • Create regular drumbeat of corporate sustainability news updates for employees, working with internal communication team to deploy comms across relevant platforms
  • Develop creative campaigns and content that bring to life the Suntory values and employee value proposition

Managing owned media channels

  • Responsible for maintaining the content for the SBFE corporate website. 
  • Grow company’s social media presence, building a profile and platform to enable increased opportunities to promote corporate initiatives
  • Create, publish and evaluate on-going, year-round calendar of digital content that appeals to key external stakeholders including Linkedin, X.

 

Advocacy

  • Work with the external advocacy team to identify events and platforms for EU public policy engagement
  • Responsible for the planning and co-ordination of events and speaker schedule
  • Oversee agency to develop EU policy stakeholder mapping and stakeholder briefings
  • Build own network of EU stakeholders through regular cycle of attendance at relevant EU and Brussels forums, events and briefings
  • Manage regulatory/legislative and political opportunities and threats, and provide internal briefings of the likely effect of public policy changes on the organisation.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain EU risk policy matrix and tracker
  • Provide support to EU based trade assocations where required including briefing internal stakeholders on relevant policy developments

Process and administration

  • Management of budget administration and tracking
  • Responsible for KPI monthly reporting within the established governance structure

 

Requirements

  • Solid experience in communications and advocacy
  • Strong network and knowledge of the Brussels communications scene
  • Comprehensive understanding of EU institutions, policies, and decision-making processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to create and execute corporate communications plans across various media
  • Experience in content creation, including copywriting and social media
  • Basic social media graphic skills are a plus
  • Active social media user: responsive, engaged, and creative
