Work percentage: 50-100% (part or full-time)
Expected start date: September / October 2024
Type of contract: Minimum 6 months, extension possible

The industry association Airborne Wind Europe is recruiting an Analyst and Project Manager, ideally located in Brussels. Airborne Wind Europe is the association of the European Airborne Wind Energy industry. It promotes the generation of energy from high-altitude winds by means of Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) systems. AWE is an emerging technology with great potential to significantly contribute to the future energy mix. Airborne Wind Europe represents the interests of the nascent AWE industry as well as academia towards decision-makers in politics and business.
The secretariat of Airborne Wind Europe consists of a highly motivated international team. We are eager to make the AWE sector grow by supporting our members and by advocating for AWE being recognised in policies and regulation on European and national level.
Job description
The selected candidate will work on delivering targeted content on technical, policy and regulatory aspects related to Airborne Wind Energy. Furthermore, the job includes project management activities in the context of international projects such as Horizon Europe and Interreg projects as well as the IEA Wind Task 48 on AWE. Additionally, the candidate will support implementing the communication and marketing strategy of Airborne Wind Europe, including communications towards political and industrial stakeholders.
Main tasks include:
  • Elaborating content and input to studies and reports (incl. data research, information requests, data analysis, synthesis writing, etc.) for projects in which Airborne Wind Europeand its members are active (currently JustWind4All, Meridional, DEM-AWE, …)
  • Project management and execution
  • Preparing position papers
  • Organisation and preparation of meetings and events, conferences and fairs, both online and in live formats, including presentations, meeting minutes, research on topics of interest, etc.
  • Screening of EU and national funding opportunities, as well as the preparation of tenders and project proposals
  • Screening of relevant events, platforms and meetings, especially in Brussels and attendance on behalf of Airborne Wind Europe
  • Supporting of advocacy activities on EU, national and regional level
  • Supporting for coalition and alliance building, as well as strengthening the association’s global network
  • Supporting communication activities and campaigns.


  • A university Master's degree in a relevant discipline demonstrating understanding of the subject area
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in the European energy sector, with a good understanding of EU policy-making processes
  • Good networking skills
  • An existing professional personal network in Brussels is a plus
  • Very strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • German or other languages are a plus
  • Strong organisational and self-management skills and flexibility in a virtual work environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Temporary employment contract for at least 6 months, extension and permanent contract are possible
  • Occasional travelling might be required
