The European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB) and Farm Animal Breeding and Reproduction EU Technology Platform (FABRE TP) have an exciting full-time position for a proactive and enthusiastic communicator to strengthen our team.
EFFAB has a secretariat of 7 people engaged in promoting the activities of the European Animal Breeders and European research projects related to Animal Breeding and Reproduction and livestock farming. We are looking for a Creative Communications Officer to support the team in activities related to communication strategy and design.
Job description and capabilities
Your job will be to support the communication activities of EFFAB and FABRE-TP, related to the European policy and scientific agenda in Brussels. EFFAB also participates in European research projects by disseminating results and transferring knowledge. In this position, you will support both types of activities and work in close collaboration with the rest of the team members.
We are looking for:
Profile & Qualifications
- University degree in Communications or any other related studies or proven equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and experience in website and photo editing and graphic design. Video editing skills are a real asset.
- Experience in either Adobe Creative Suite and Canva for graphic and video design or any similar software is an important asset.
- Fluent English is required, another EU language is an asset but not required.
- Good and creative writing skills.
- Natural interest in European Politics, Science and Agriculture and in how to make it accessible to a wide variety of audiences.
- Motivated, well-organised team player, able to deliver on time, proactive and can take responsibility for own work.
- Flexible and can adapt to changing priorities as required.
Main Responsibilities
- Produce content and design visuals for the EU research projects and the 2 associations in which we are involved will be your main tasks.
- Manage and update websites according to the needs of the EU Projects and EFFAB- FABRE TP activities.
- Co-write articles, factsheets and relevant information for a wide variety of audiences.
- Assist in growing our communication channels, including social media for both policy and science.
- Assist in setting up meetings, webinars and political events.
- Analyse data, traffic, and communications channels engagement and present ideas for improvement on a regular basis.

We are offering a temporary contract under Belgian Law for 6 months, with the possibility to be extended for an indefinite period. Salary and extra-legal conditions will be considered depending on the experience of the candidate.
