ABIS – The Academy of Business in Society is looking for a Finance and Operations Coordinator to join our team in Brussels!

As a Finance and Operations Coordinator you will be in charge of the efficient functioning of ABIS through financial, administrative and communication tasks. You will be responsible for key backbone activities, resulting in reliable reporting and smooth information-sharing, non- financial resources management, engaged membership and team support. We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional who will share our purpose and take on responsibilities in:

  • Coordination and administration of financial bookkeeping, cash management, payments and invoicing processes, forecasting, , collaboration with the accountant
  • HR administration
  • Reporting and relationships with public institutions / authorities
  • Data management regarding members and clients
  • Membership coordination, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • In collaboration with team, develop processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency of our operations
  • Organising team, board and network meetings  

Qualifications and skills desired:

  • Relevant professional experience of at least 1-3 years in a small organization in Belgium (NGO, start-up, SME)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent working experience
  • Professional proficiency in English and French are mandatory for the role. Good knowledge of other languages is desirable
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with various software packages
  • Attention to details and striving for accuracy
  • Ability to build positive and trusted relationships with team, members, clients and suppliers
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills and persuasive communication style
  • Ability to drive ideas to execution and implement action plans
  • Demonstrated team player who thrives working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Interest in the sustainability field
