IDA Group Brussels is currently seeking a full-time motivated Public Affairs Intern to join our dynamic EU public affairs team. The internship, starting November 2019, will run for a 6-month period and will provide the intern with a unique insight into the ‘Brussels bubble’ and public affairs consultancy work. The internship is remunerated.

From our offices in Brussels and Berlin we support clients to communicate strategically, influence legislation, resolve issues, change regulation, enter new markets or overcome trade barriers.


  • Graduate Degree: European Studies, Public Affairs, Law, International Business, Political Science or equivalent
  • Good understanding of the German political system
  • Good understanding of the European legislative structure and institutions
  • Strong interest in health environmental, sustainability and industrial policy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
  • Native German speaker
  • Good level of written and spoken English is required, with other languages considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of or experience with using Social Media;
  • Ability to work as part of an International team, as well as individually on set tasks;
  • Organised, with an attention to detail.


  • Research and draft background materials on German and  EU policy and activities;
  • Support the team in monitoring closely and preparing regular news summaries and updates on EU policies and institutions, as well as EU member state developments;
  • Review and prepare summaries and analysis of EU policy documents;
  • Prepare and attend advocacy meetings, participate to conferences and events, prepare event reports and meeting notes;
  • Provide assistance for the organization of events and projects;
  • Provide general administrative support.
