About Hanbury Strategy
Hanbury Strategy is a strategic advisory firm that provides political analysis and insight to clients from
the FTSE 250 through to fast-growth, disruptive start-ups. The business was launched two and a half
years ago by Ameet Gill (former Head of Strategy for David Cameron), Paul Stephenson (former
Head of Comms for Vote Leave) and Simon Evans (former Head of Government Affairs for Osborne
& Partners) who shared the ambition to create the go-to international consultancy for anyone facing a
challenging political risk or issue.
In just two and half years Hanbury has grown to over 35 people with offices in London, Brussels and
Berlin and has very ambitious growth plans. The business has three business lines – political insight,
communications and public affairs and polling.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced public affairs Director who would relish the opportunity to help
drive our EU team to the next stage of growth. This person would be responsible for leading and
advising clients across Europe, supporting new business and managing some members of the team.

  • Salary DoE

The skills
  • You have a good understanding of the financial services, tech and data industries
  • Ideally you have a deep understanding of or experience working within the European Parliament or Commission
  • You also understand the corporate world and have a strong network across large corporates
Client Servicing
  • Oversee a significant client portfolio of accounts working the Partner on the team to ensure the efficient and profitable running of that portfolio
  • Demonstrate understanding of clients’ commercial objectives and develop programmes which have clear commercial outcomes and measurable objectives
  • Has the experience and knowledge to become the trusted and experienced adviser to senior clients
  • Develop new ways of working and processes that increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Take responsibility for managing resources within the team
  • Manage several members of the team, taking responsibility for their development and progression
Business Development
  • Make a significant contribution to new business generation, preparing new business plans and leading business development with the support of the Partner
  • Actively work to promote the Hanbury offer, networks and builds relationships within the industry and represents Hanbury at external forums and events
