Description of the Mission
The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) AISBL represents the largest low-carbon energy research community in Europe and worldwide. Bringing together more than 250 organisations from 30 countries to develop shared priority setting and research projects, EERA has become the key actor for coordinating publicly financed European energy research and development and works in close cooperation with the European Commission. EERA currently runs 17 Joint Programmes (JPs) covering research in materials, technologies and systems including policy and social aspects, aligned with the priorities for low-carbon technologies defined in the EU SET-Plan.
EERA is looking for an Intern to support Administration & Events (50%) and Communications (50%) in our EERA office located in Brussels. The Intern will be part of the Secretariat. The position will be an opportunity for the Intern to immerse herself or himself in an international and multicultural working environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will support our Office Manager and Communications Manager with the following day- to-day tasks and responsibilities:
Administration/Office Management:
  • Provide support in various administrative and organisational office operations;
  • Support the administration regarding member organisations in EERA’s Joint Programmes including the membership database, invoicing, fee collection and follow-up;
  • Support internal communication with the EERA members;
  • Co-organise meetings and other EERA events incl. logistics, participant management, catering, set-up and take-down of the event space, etc.;
  • Write and post content on the EERA website and social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Support the relaunch of the EERA website and the development of a members area on the website
  • Support the creation and dissemination of newsletters
  • Order communications material such as flyers, posters, roll-ups, and giveaways
  • Proofreading
General Requirements
  • Ongoing studies for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communication, Event Management, Marketing or Languages or a recent graduate with such a degree;
  • A very good command of English, both oral and written; knowledge of other European languages, especially French, is a desirable asset;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and social media, experience in web content management systems is an asset);
  • Basic understanding of the EU institutions is an asset;
  • Interest in renewable energies and sustainability is an asset;
  • You are willing to work in an interactive and multicultural team;
  • You have good organisational, communication and teamwork skills;
  • You are passionate about innovative and sustainable solutions and you are open to new technologies, new ideas and new ways of thinking;
  • You have a strong eye for detail and sense of quality;
  • You are able to efficiently prioritise and make decisions with minimal guidance;
  • You are able to listen to others but also not be afraid to speak your mind directly;
  • You are passionate about providing world-class customer service to our members, colleagues and internal and external stakeholders;
  • You have a sense of humour;
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the EU.
Terms of the Contract
This offer is for both current students and recent graduates. For current students, the internship will be done in the framework of the curriculum, for which an agreement must be signed between EERA, the student and the sending university. This is a paid internship, the salary depending on the degree and according to market practice.
Starting date is as soon as possible for a duration of 4 to 6 months. Office location: EERA, Rue de Namur 72, 1000 Brussels.
