Job Summary:

REVOLVE is seeking a full-time Communication Manager to lead overall communication activities for our projects by developing and implementing a strategy, keeping our focus on high-value media opportunities, developing outreach materials, leading online communication, conducting media outreach, and supporting partner and community management. You will report to the Founder of REVOLVE for high-level priorities, with a bi-monthly reporting in cooperation with the Project Managers and our regional office in Barcelona.

As part of the strategy, you will develop and lead media relations for REVOLVE and its projects, and work to keep the projects’ outreach efforts focused on high-priority opportunities. In addition, you will oversee and help implement the digital strategy for social media channels as well as REVOLVE website and print content flow. The responsibilities may also include supervising junior communication staff member or intern, depending on funding.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and Implement a Communications Strategy 

  • Revise and refine the communication strategy including media relations and social media.
  • Implement the strategy by working closely with our team in Brussels, Vienna and Barcelona.
  • Work with team members on developing clear and effective influence strategies, helping them decide what tools and channels are most effective for reaching certain audiences.
  • Serve as key communication manager for certain projects, helping them develop and implement targeted communications work plans.

Manage Communications Activities

  • Manage the communications work plan for various initiatives, including coordinating outreach for key reports, events, conferences, and news.
  • Help project teams create clear, concise messaging to advance impact.
  • Write and edit content related fit for top-quality media, particularly press releases, policy briefs, newsletter items, and social media posts, as well as longer articles and features, when required.
  • Develop interactive media products including slideshows, charts, postcards and videos, and support their design and promotion.
  • Assist with overseeing media and social media impact of our events, related to projects and publication launches, meetings, and other announcements.
  • Participate in and support the REVOLVE publications process, including partner outreach planning, content development and general coordination efforts.
  • Write targeted communication and emails to high-profile audiences (such as senior EU institutional officials)
  • Support the drafting of development of compelling fundraising materials, including proposals and presentations for tenders, grants and partnerships.
  • Provide general administrative support, such as scheduling, event logistics, and other responsibilities as needed.
  • Develop and implement an outreach strategy to drive traffic to the web platform and use analytics to improve strategies and performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of full-time work experience in professional communication, marketing, public relations or journalism. Demonstrated experience or expertise in environmental or social issues.
  • Master’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field, with academic experience in environmental policy /science or sustainable development or two+ years of additional relevant experience.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English required. A second language such as French, Spanish, Arabic, is desirable.
  • Belgian work authorization is required for all REVOLVE opportunities. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role or working papers.
