Project officer in charge of European and International Projects with Research Project building focus.

Job Location: University of Limoges –France

The University of Limoges is looking to strengthen its capacity to submit and win calls for European or international projects type H2020 and reinforce its positioning and visibility internationally. To this end, a position of Project officer is offered within the Project Support Cell (CAP), requiring a collaborative approach with the entire team that intervenes upstream in the project building assistance and downstream in the administrative and financial management of the projects won.

Main mission:

Support projects in line with the objectives of the international policy of the University of Limoges, particularly in the context of calls focusing on achieving European and International projects of excellence.

The Project Officer in charge of European and International Projects will therefore intervene among others on the following actions:

  • Strategic monitoring: collection, analysis and dissemination of information on European and international programs in the thematic areas of the University of Limoges.
  • Detection of projects: identification of project leaders within the University of Limoges through local work
  • Awareness raising
  • Structuring and drafting of proposals
  • Budget editing
  • Technical contact with the European Union

Work Enviromment :

The mission is carried out within the Project Support Office (CAP). As such, the candidate will have to articulate his activities with all the University resources in project engineering and in particular with the Research and Finance Divisions..

The position is based on the site of the Jacobins University of Limoges and will be under the authority of the Directorate of the International Office.

Experience required :

  • Minimum Master degree in European Studies, and / or other relevant scientific disciplines
  •  3 to 5 years professional experience in European and international projects building
  • Solid experience in setting up European and international research projects in the higher education sector (Thematic H2020, ERC, MSCA, COST…)

Project evaluation experience will be considered an asset.

Elementar Knowledge :

  • Substantial and updated knowledge of the European Research Framework Programme and relating funding rules
  • Substantial knowledge of higher education and research environment in France and Europe
  • Fluent level in English and very good written and spoken French language skills
  • Another foreign language would be an advantage.

Job related skills / Aptitudes:

  • Excellent project development and project building skills for transnational projects
  • Using of monitoring and communication tools
  • Facilitating and organizing information days and thematic workshops, etc ...
  • Excellent writing skills in French and English.

Interpersonal skills:

  • A team-worker with good interpersonal skills
  • High availability, sense of service
  • Rigor and sense of responsibility
  • Autonomy and proactivity
  • Good pedagogy
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.

Specific constraints:

  • Travels to plan
  • Calendars of calls for projects and programs

Contract length:

  1. Fixed term contract (upon to 1 year)
  2. Starting date: from November 2018
  3. Salary: ITRF IGE ministerial salary scale with remuneration according to experience.
