For the GIZ Representation in Brussels we are looking for a (Junior)-POLICY ADVISOR (m/f) to start on September 1st, 2018.

The tasks of a Policy Advisor include:

  • Public affairs and political analyses relevant to GIZ
  • In general, identifying, analyzing and delivering key EU political information and intelligence into the organization with a focus but not  exclusively on EU Development and External Affairs policies and regulations
  • Advisory services for GIZ’s management board and other internal units as well as external partners and/or institutions
  • Establishing, enlarging and maintaining networks with stakeholders in the EU organizations
  • Conception and organization of expert seminars and technical meetings

The following qualifications and experiences are required:

  • A genuine interest in EU affairs, EU politics and international development
  • Graduation in Law, Economic, Public Administration or related
  • A strong knowledge of the EU political process and political decision making
  • Experience in the European Parliament or in any of the other EU institutions
  • Experience of building and developing excellent customer relationships
  • At least two years of experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience of undertaking research on political issues
  • Excellent writing and oral skills in German and English
  • IT skills (MS Office, Outlook….)
  • Presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel predominantly within Europe (HQ in Germany)
