Job description

The Communications Manager will be joining the client team operating the association of European automotive and industrial battery manufacturers (EUROBAT).

The main roles of the Communications Manager will be to:

  • Provide high quality strategic advice to the industry association covering energy, transport and battery supply chain sectors regarding its planning of communication goals and objectives.
  • Proactively manage implementation of the communication goals and PR activities of the association, in close cooperation with the association leadership and the staff team.
  • Hands-on design and delivery of communication messages and presentations in an attractive, precise and expert manner.
  • Join the senior client team and report to the Executive Director of EUROBAT.

This position would also entail:

  • Identifying the best strategies to communication programs that aim at advocating key policies and positions as well as promoting and protecting the association’s and sector’s image and brand.
  • Representing the association as well as building and maintaining high level relationships with key stakeholders, in particular EU Institutions, agencies and relevant European and national associations;
  • Execute the communications and PR strategy on a daily basis;
  • Managing the association’s Communications and Strategy Working Group engaging with media contacts and executing social media networks and PR campaigns;
  • Drafting and editing communication materials (press releases, articles, newsletters).


  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in communications and PR, including messaging, branding, social media, spokesperson capabilities, crisis management
  • Experience in or with EU or national associations is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the EU Institutions and their functioning and good network of contacts in EU institutions.
  • Understanding of EU legislation and regulations is an asset.
  • Outstanding analytical/research skills and proven accuracy
  • Very good writing, communicative and presentational skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English and proficient knowledge of at least 1 other language
  • Self-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment
