The Israel Public Policy Institute (IPPI) offers young leaders from Germany an opportunity to participate in a Fellowship program in Israel in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Heinrich Böll Foundation on the theme: “Ecology & Sustainable Development: Policies and Best Practices in Israel and Germany”.

As part of the program, the Fellow will be required to compose a policy paper pertaining to an environmental challenge common to both countries; the Fellow will be able to draw on the pool of partners of the IPPI and familiarize themselves with relevant actors in the country.

The program provides the Fellows with an opportunity to work side by side with some of Israel's leading policy experts in the field of ecology and sustainable development and gain firsthand professional experience while learning about the central challenges facing the country in the fields of environment and sustainability.

  • The fellow will spend 4 month as a visiting researcher at the Ministry of Environmental Protection in Israel and will act as an adviser.
  • While under the supervision of experts and decision-makers, the fellow will develop and implement a comparative research project regarding one of the environmental challenges Germany and Israel face.
  • The fellow will consider practices in both Germany and Israel, and reflect upon lessons that can be taken from respective policies.

Eligibility Criterias:

  • Master's Degree
  • Professional experience in environmental policy is an advantage;
  • Proven ability to compose short research papers;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Full proficiency in English;
  • German Citizenship

More information:

  • The dates of the fellowship are as follows: 1 August - 30 November 2018.
  • The fellow will receive 750 euros monthly.
