Description of the tasks of the intern

The candidate will support the Sky Public Affairs team based in Brussels. S/he will support Sky’s work on a number of EU legislative files. The main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Research and monitor the EU legislative process on key topics such as the audiovisual, copyright, piracy, telecoms as well as the environment (as part of our Sky Ocean Rescue campaign)
  • Help analyse texts from the Institutions to identify threats and opportunities to Sky’s business
  • Support drafting amendments and changes to legislative proposals and positions from the Institutions
  • Map key stakeholders in Brussels and in other European markets
  • Support event planning in and out the Sky Brussels office
  • Attend external events/networking opportunities
  • Help identify creative ways to engage and communicate with EU stakeholders
  • Administrative support

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria

  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage
  • Interest in EU policy and understanding of the functioning of the EU/legislative process
  • Knowledge of IP and copyright issues is an advantage
  • Attention to details
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Quick learner
  • Love for technology and TV!
