EFC is looking for an eager, hard-working and cooperative intern to support its Policy & Programmes Department and Director.

Job and Candidate Profile:

Policy and Programmes is the EFC Department dealing with content for networking, policy, and knowledge and information sharing.  Its staff is active in a wide range of topics and activities within European (institutional) philanthropy, including democracy, disability, environment, operations and many more.  As such, the intern is expected to have a variety of interests relevant to institutional philanthropy in Europe.  They will also have to be a proven multi-tasker so as to be able to provide support with various activities to the whole Policy and Programmes team and under the guidance of the Policy and Programmes Director.

We are looking for a recent graduate or currently-enrolled university student with good language, communication and planning skills and (some) relevant substantial knowledge, acquired through studies or work placements/experience.  A very good, ideally native, level of English is required, preferably in addition to knowledge of another European language.  The ideal candidate will exhibit commitment, motivation, professionalism and a strong willingness to learn about institutional philanthropy in Europe.

This is a great opportunity to do important and relevant work and to learn from and grow with experienced colleagues.

Main tasks include:

  • Assistance with communication with EFC members and stakeholder
  • Assistance with in-house communication with colleagues and staff across departmentsKeep track of and help prepare expense reports
  • Prepare meetings and writing meeting minutes
  • Assist with the coordination of schedules for meetings
  • Communicate with internal and external contacts, including EFC members
  • Draft and write summarizing notes, briefs, funding proposals, etc.
  • Research developments within EFC’s membership base, their activities and interests and within relevant European and national legislative and political developments
  • Assist ad hoc with day-to-day Policy & Programmes activities

A qualified applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • A very good (native) level of spoken and written English
  • Other European languages, particularly French, are desirable
  • A relevant education and/or social/professional profile

What we offer:

  • Remuneration in accordance with Belgian law (781,29€ per month) and daily lunch vouchers
  • Reimbursement of public transport, a language course and one return trip to the intern’s home country
  • Accident insurance
