PAX stands for peace and brings people together who have the courage to stand for peace. Together with people in conflict areas and concerned citizens worldwide, PAX works to build just and peaceful societies across the globe.

PAX is working to increase and broaden its revenue streams and to further professionalise its fundraising. The institutional fundraising team consists of 3 institutional fundraisers and occupies a strategic position within the organisation.
The team works closely with management and simultaneously offers support and advice to the programme leaders with regard to programme development, acquisition and relationship management. The team works at the strategy and planning level, and is also involved with the implementation and the practice of strategies and plans within the organisation.

Due to the departure of a colleague we are currently looking for an

Institutional Fundraiser (1.0 fte)


  • Raise structural and project-based funds from Dutch and international foundations, the Dutch and other governments, intergovernmental and multilateral organisations and the National Postcode Lottery
  • Develop, implement and evaluate a policy and management tools for institutional fundraising. This policy is based on a strategic multi-annual plan
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with institutional donors
  • Advise and support management and programme leaders in their acquisition tasks and relationship management
  • Offer practical support for account management
  • Support programme leaders with reports and evaluations.

We are looking for:
An experienced professional who can realise sustainable and versatile income streams for PAX. An inspiring, result-oriented networker who knows his or her way in the complex world of institutional fundraising. Someone who can identify and capitalise on opportunities and who can work systematically and according to procedure with those involved to achieve objectives on time.

We ask for:

  • University-level professional and intellectual ability
  • Proven successful experience (minimum three years) with institutional fundraising and coordinating complex funding proposals
  • Knowledge of and experience with relevant networks/markets
  • Experience of strategy development in the field of (institutional) fundraising in similar organisations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (in at least Dutch and English)
  • Experience within the sector of non-profit and/or international organisations is desirable, especially if the experience involves peace-building in (post) conflict areas.

We offer:

  • A challenging job in a dynamic, informal, international-oriented work environment
  • Starting as soon as possible
  • Appointment for 36 hours per week (1.0 fte), initially for one year
  • Salary scale 10 according to the PKN terms and conditions of employment (depending on experience), minimum of €2,423 to a maximum of €3,897 (gross)
  • End-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
