The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) is a federation of the ETUC and comprises 8 million public service workers in the energy, water and waste sectors, health and social services and local and national administration. 

EPSU is looking for a talented Brussels-based Communications Assistant for a 9 months fixed-term contract, four days a week.  The Communications Assistant will support EPSU's communications strategy to popularise the issues that EPSU deals with and create the maximum impact with our key stakeholders, including affiliates and their members, employers, governments, the European Union, international organisations and the media. 

Tasks

  • Proactively contribute to the EPSU website and social media channels.
  • Write and edit a variety of documents in English and assist in creating an EPSU media profile.
  • Support the communications work of the different EPSU sectors as well as on ongoing EPSU campaigns.
  • Develop the media screening of the organisation and increase its outreach.

Requirements

  • At least one year's experience in communications work in an organisation/institution that shares the values of EPSU. Trade union experience is an advantage.
  • Native English level or equivalent (C2) Knowledge of other languages is an advantage, in particular French, German, Swedish or a Central-Eastern European language.

  • Experience of writing press and other communication materials.
  • Extensive experience in using and developing websites and social media tools.
  • Specific knowledge of creatively developing new media campaigns and social activism tools.
  • Knowledge of the EU decision-making processes and structures.

  • The monthly gross salary is 2.300 EUR plus other legal and extra legal benefits according to our collective agreement.
