Aqua Publica Europea is the European association of public water operators. Its mission is to promote public water management at European and international level.

APE gathers public water operators and their national associations from different European countries. Overall, its members provide high quality water and sanitation services to over 80 million European citizens.

APE is recruiting a Translation and Communication trainee to join the association’s secretariat in Brussels.

The successful candidate will be part of a small but growing team. She/he will report to the Executive Director, and will be involved in all the main activities related to the implementation of the association’s strategy.

Tasks:

  • Translating internal and external communication material and administrative texts;
  • Assist in updating the APE website and other internal communication material and tools;
  • Assist in planning and organizing internal and external events and meetings;
  • Assist in drafting communication materials;
  • Assist with general administrative tasks.

Profile:

Essential

  • Completed university studies (bachelor’s)
  • High proficiency in English, French and/or Italian/Spanish
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Basic knowledge of EU environmental policy and policy-making process
  • Willingness to learn about EU affairs and acquire new skills
  • Proven interest in the environmental services or the water sector

Optional

  • Familiarity with graphic software (e.g. Illustrator, etc.), e-campaigns, on-line forms and CMS
  • Previous work experience in the area of translation/EU affairs or nonprofit organizations
