Job Description
Traineeships in the European Chemicals Agency
The ECHA Traineeship scheme principally targets recent university graduates aiming for a career in REACH-relevant fields of work and public or private sector employees already engaged in such a career.
The objectives of the ECHA traineeship scheme are:
- To promote awareness, knowledge, expertise and understanding on REACH and ECHAÂ’s role in its implementation among the stakeholder community by providing people who are aiming for or engaged in a career in REACH-related field with hands-on experience of the work of ECHA.
- To facilitate the entry into professional life and promote the professional development of suitably qualified people who are aiming for or engaged in a career in REACH-related fields.
Through its traineeship scheme, ECHA:
- Benefits from the input of enthusiastic young graduates and professionals, who can give a fresh point of view and up-to-date academic knowledge, which will enhance the everyday work of ECHA.
- Facilitates the implementation of REACH by enhancing the REACH knowledge base of the stakeholder community.
- Creates within the stakeholder community a pool of young people with first-hand experience of ECHA and its working methods, who will facilitate cooperation between ECHA and the stakeholder community in the future.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has now launched a call for applications with a view to establishing a reserve list of in-service trainees for the period of 1 March – 31 July 2009.
