Job Description
The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), based in
Dublin, Ireland, is seeking to recruit an Editor (English Language).
Reporting to the Head of Information and Communication, the Editor will be primarily responsible for the
following:
— Editing, updating and creating content for Eurofound's corporate website in an attractive, accessible and
user-friendly way;
— Editing of Eurofound publications including annual reports, information and promotional products;
— Editing research reports and initiating short texts when required;
— Sourcing, writing and re-drafting short articles for Eurofound publications including the monthly newsletter
and the biannual journal;
— Liaising with Eurofound research staff and with external editors;
— Monitoring the editorial/production process when required;
— Managing contracts when required;
— Any other Information and Communication tasks as required.
The competition is open to candidates who:
— are citizens of one of the Member States of the European Union;
— are entitled to full rights as a citizen;
— have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;
— are able to produce character references as to suitability for performance of the duties specified;
— have a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge
of another language of the Union. As English is the main working language of Eurofound, high proficiency
in English is required to a level necessary for the performance of your duties;

— have level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma;
— have a professional qualification in Journalism, Communications, English language or in related disciplines;
— in addition to above, have at least 3 years of relevant and proven professional experience gained after
obtaining the diploma.
The successful candidate will be recruited to Function Group AST, Grade 3, as Temporary Agent with a
contract of indefinite duration.
