DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The International Criminal Court frequently seeks qualified candidates to fill temporary administrative and secretarial positions for different sections throughout the Organisation. A roster is currently being maintained with candidates who fit these needs. These positions may vary in duties and level and suitable candidates are often needed at very short notice. These positions are recruited on a local basis, which means that such positions do not carry any of the benefits and entitlements associated with internationally-recruited staff.
Below is a generic list of duties and responsibilities and candidate profile.

• Provide secretarial and administrative assistance to the Section;
• Check correspondence and documents for completeness and accuracy;
• Co-ordinate the Section to schedule and arrange meetings/ appointments with officials within and outside the Court, using discretion and judgment with regard to priority of appointments and maintain appointments calendar;
• Draft routine correspondence as required;
• Assist in the travel arrangements of the Section
• Receive and assist official visitors:
• Monitor incoming mail;
• Assist with the preparation of the Section budget and monitors expenditures;
• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Completion of secondary education
• Several years of progressively responsible experience in the field of administration, including at least 3 years for the G-3 level, 4 years for the G-4 level and 6 years for the GS-5 level;
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
• Knowledge of Microsoft standard applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access;
• Absolute discretion and loyalty
• Effective organizational skills and ability to handle a large volume of work in an efficient and timely manner;
• Initiative and willingness to learn new skills;

KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES
Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court would be considered an asset.

The Court reserves the right not to make any appointment to this vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade, or to make an appointment with a modified job description.
