Technical Project Officer

We are looking for a Technical Project Officer, with a background in engineering ideally in gas turbines, who will run and coordinate the work streams of ETN’s engine specific user groups and activities. In this exciting role you will work closely with both the gas turbine user community for power generation and oil & gas and the Official Equipment Manufacture of these engines as well as with R&D experts from the gas turbine industry. To be successful in this position you will need excellent spoken and written English communication skills, the ability to work in a focused manner as well as the drive to excel and widen these activities on a global level in line with ETN’s expansion strategy. You will be working in a modern office in an attractive part of central Brussels.

ETN is an international association with members from 4 different continents, bringing together the entire value chain for gas turbine technology and related turbomachinery for power generation and mechanical drive. The mission is to encourage and facilitate information exchange, research and technology cooperation and development in areas of importance to the global user community.

Tasks will include:

  • Leadership and coordination of engine specific user groups;
  • Request and identify technical issues among the operators worldwide;
  • Maintain technical databases through close contact with operators, OEMs and service providers;
  • Follow-up on RCA investigations and solutions developments;
  • Bring unsolved issues to the ETN research community;
  • Project management assistance in research projects; including dissemination activities;
  • Organising technical meetings and conferences, providing logistical support and drafting background documents and meeting reports;
  • Editing, updating and maintaining ETN communication channels such as the ETN website, WIKI tool and other knowledge pooling  platforms;
  • Working with the ETN team to manage membership activities and providing optimum services to members.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Engineering and interest in gas turbine technology;
  • Excellent oral and written English, and ideally knowledge of other languages;
  • Excellent IT skills: Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Access and VBA considered a plus), and basic website management (CMS), database management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, and be able to network at ease;
  • A positive attitude, good organisational skills; ability to multitask with an eye for details;
  • Some industry experience would be an asset;
