Technical officer

- Environment/Waste-related issues -

Starting date: as soon as possible

Based in the heart of Brussels, close to the EU institutions, FEAD offers you the opportunity to work with the European federation representing the private waste management industry.

Assignments: 

  • Contribution to the development of FEAD input to European consultations, positions on technical issues and related advocacy work on waste (e.g. waste incineration and waste treatment BREFs)
  • Organisation and coordination of FEAD’s technical expert committees
  • Monitoring and dissemination of information on policy areas relevant to FEAD members as well as providing the FEAD team with regular policy updates

Requirements:

  • Technical background (degree in science, engineering, chemistry or equivalent)
  • Strong interest and experience in EU policy-making
  • Capability to understand, analyse and communicate technically complex information
  • Experience in environmental issues/waste management
  • Native or excellent English (written and oral); other language skills (in particular French and/or German) are an asset
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a small, highly motivated team
