EUREKA is an intergovernmental network that promotes and supports transnational research and development activities, many involving small businesses and large industry .  To support EUREKA ’s mission of strengthening industrial competitiveness through innovation, the EUREKA Secretariat, based in Brussels, is looking for an experienced T echnical Leader in designing and delivering complex technology enabled business change activities.  Y ou will contribute to defining the technology strategy, including;  architecture, technologies used, standards and processes ,and always aim for high quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Translate the organisation’s requirements into specific system-, application- or process concepts in line with the organisation’s business-strategy;
  • Participate in the elaboration of ICT strategies to support EUREKA activities;
  • Collaborate and/or provide guidance in the context of identification and conceptualisation of IT- and/or project architecture solutions;
  • Safeguard and implement a technical architecture connecting with the users’ requests in order to offer an appropriate answer to users’ questions and problems;
  • Daily organisation of IT staff activities in order to ensure on the one hand the planning and on the other hand the quality of the work;
  • Continuously promote the development and improvement of the technical aspects of processes & tools in order to offer an optimal service to the organisation;
  • Provide support to project collaborators in order to form a good functioning team;
  • Stay informed on developments related to IT technologies to define system architectures with a good balance between state of the art technology, value for money and business needs;
  • Helps in solving technical SPIKES.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Experience in modelling complex web application;  Strong experience in class diagram, sequence diagram, component diagrams and activation diagrams.
  • Strong Programming Skills in designing and implementation of multi-tier applications 
  • Experience in developing Web Services and evolving in a SOA/Microservice environment
  • Experience in a Messaging-queue architecture (RabbitMQ)
  • Experience in full-stack development,  AngularJS preferred
  • Strong experience in all the phases of software development life cycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, deployment and support.
  • Experience in Java design patterns such as Session Façade, Singleton, Data Access Objects (DAO),  and Business Delegate.
  • Experience in writing complex J2EE architecture (Spring, Hibernate)
  • Experience in software, Junit and  regression testing, defect tracking and management using the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bamboo)
  • Experience in managing a development team according to AGILE methodology ,  SCRUM Master required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication & relationship management skills, enthusiastic & self-driven, with a high degree of commitment.
