Job Description
UNICEF – Skopje, is seeking an international consultant to conduct a Study on the risks and threats to children’s wellbeing that can arise as a result of the current economic crisis in the country. The international consultant will work closely with a national research team to complete the study and disseminate the results of the same.
Project Duration: 15 August – 31 December 2009.
Overall goal: The overall goal is to improve our understanding of the effects of the current economic crisis on children, by analyzing its impact on poverty, social inclusion and other socio-economic aspects relevant to children. Moreover, the analysis should result in concrete proposals for policy alternatives and recommendations for compensatory mechanisms designed to mitigate the impact of the crisis on children in the country.
Key Assignments: The team leader/international consultant will be responsible for the designing of the research methodology, providing advice on data collection, processing the data and writing the final report. S/he will be assisted by a local team of researchers who would be responsible for data-collection under the guidance of the team leader.
The Proposal should include the following:
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae outlining the candidate’s academic and professional background relevant to the proposed research, and three reference contacts.
- Project proposal outlining the methodology, research techniques and research tools that will be used to complete the study.
