Job Description
The Brussels office of the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) is hiring a European Climate Policy Intern for the summer.

Since 1985, the Washington , DC- based CCAP has been a recognized world leader in climate and air quality policy and is the only independent think-tank working exclusively on these issues at the local, national and international levels. With active on-the-ground policy and research activities and through its unique stakeholder dialogues, CCAP advances market-based, pragmatic climate change policies that balance environmental protection with economic development. CCAP actively supports the international climate negotiations and is preparing for the Copenhagen conference in December 2009.
The new CCAP Brussels office is fostering the international work of the organization and generating specific European Climate Policy projects. One of the focus points for CCAP is Europe is the implementation of the European climate and energy package.
General responsibilities for the intern include research, project and staff support. The intern will assist staff with research for CCAP's programs on European climate policy.
- Knowledge of climate policy issues in Europe and within the context of the International Negotiation and interest in these issues is desirable.
- Some years of academic studies of economics, familiarity with international emission reductions commitments and scenarios or with the economics of auctioning would be ideal.
- Excellent written and spoken English essential.
Preferably, the intern should be available to begin work in July through September if possible. The internship will be paid. CCAP is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
